Ingredients:

Make this Baby Shower Cookies:

Step 1:

Put the butter and powdered sugar in a bowl and beat them with a mixer on medium speed until the mixture is very smooth. Add vanilla extract and reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the salt and flour, then mix until the mixture is combined.

Step 2:

Flatten the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic food foil, and chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Step 3:

Roll the dough into a ¼-inch thick sheet. Use a lightly floured cookie cutter to cut any shapes you like. For this occasion, we especially love the romper cookie cutter, baby cookie cutter, baby boy cookie cutter and teddy bear cookie cutter.

Step 4:

Place the baby shower cookies on a cookie sheet lined with baking paper. Chill them in the fridge for 15 minutes. This way the cookies will retain their shape during baking.

Step 5:

Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 13 to 15 minutes. Cookies should remain pale. Place them on a cooling rack to cool completely.

Step 6:

Prepare and colour the white icing mix with food colouring when the baby shower cookies have cooled. If you already know the gender of the baby, you can choose between pink or blue food colouring, or you can choose neutral colours, such as yellow. Decorate the cookies using piping tips and bags or paintbrushes and applicators, whichever is more convenient for you. Let your imagination run wild!

Step 7:

Let them dry overnight before taking them to the baby shower party.

Equipment:

Ingredients:

  • 100 g Soft Butter
  • 50 g Cream Cheese
  • 130 g White Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 350 g All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • Food Colouring

It’s time to start preparing baby shower cookies:

Step 1:

Put the butter, cream cheese, and sugar in a bowl and beat them with a mixer until fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla and beat until smooth.

Step 2:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the cream mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 3:

Divide the dough into two equal parts and incorporate different food colouring into each portion. Consider the gender of the baby, opting for blue or pink food colouring for the first half of the dough. Add white food colouring to the other half. After colouring, wrap each portion of the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for two hours to chill.

Step 4:

Take one-half of the dough out of the fridge and roll it out with a Rolling Pin on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of just over ⅛-inch.

Step 5:

Cut out baby shower cookies with the round cookie cutter. Pull the dough with a Metal Spatula so that it does not stick to the table. If necessary, sprinkle it with the flour below.

Step 6:

Using a Metal Spatula, lift the dough onto a Cookie Sheet lined with Baking Paper. Collect scraps and repeat.

Step 7:

Follow the same process with the other colour and make sure to clean the work surface between each one.

Step 8:

Bake at 175°C for 8-10 minutes. Then cool the baby shower cookies on a Cooling Rack.
